Trying New Things

By thisisbooth

Hello out there!  I’m a johnny-come-lately to the world of blogging but I’m jumping in with two feet!  There are so many wonderful, inspiring blogs on the internet that have prompted me to take action in the area of my creativity, so now I want to give something back!

I was so inspired by SouleMama’s blog article about a simple quilt, that I decided to attempt my own quick version.  This little quilt is hand-pieced, hand-tied, machine bound using fabrics from the “Aunt Grace Polka Dots” collection by MarcusBrothers Textiles, Inc.  Maker of binding material unknown.  Backed with a simple white fleece.

Although no babies around this house to enjoy it, one of my youngest kitties we rescued this summer sure seems to enjoy his time snoozing with it!

I have been finding a lot of joy in focusing my thoughts upon simple things.  To take delight in what is around me and to have an attitude of gratitude.   I realized that a lot of my delight in doing for others seemed to disappear when there was no appreciation expressed in return.  Now I’m finding that just being grateful that I have been blessed with the ability to create is bringing me joy once again.  Regardless of someone else’s expression in return.
So today I want to say “Thank you” to express my gratitude for those who create, share, and continue to do so regardless of how it’s received.  You are my inspiration!  Thank you!  And thank you for spending some of your time reading my blog.  How are you doing today?
